Peet’s Coffee Pledges $250,000 to Advance Coffee Research

Gift will fund Peet’s Coffee Pilot Roastery in first-of-its-kind coffee center

Peet’s Coffee today announced its pledge of $250,000 to the University of California, Davis, to fund the Peet’s Coffee Pilot Roastery, which will be located in a first-of-its-kind Coffee Center at UC Davis. The pioneering center and pilot roastery will be devoted to post-harvest coffee research and engineering, an underrepresented field, and aims to be the leader in coffee science.

Grand Re-Opening of the Newly Renovated Chemical Engineering Coffee Lab

Please join the Chemical Engineering Department in celebrating the grand re-opening of the coffee lab, now newly renovated to handle over 500 students per quarter!  The coffee lab, where the incredibly popular course ECM 1 The Design of Coffee is held, is in 126 Everson Hall.  If you haven’t heard of this course, check it out – you can learn the fundamentals of chemical engineering by engineering yourself the perfect cup of coffee.
