Position Title
Head Roaster
I fell in love with coffee at the age 19 working as an EMT on ambulances and learning how to be an adult from my co-workers gathered around a cup of coffee.
Way back in 1993, I had a life-changing coffee experience while attending Stanford for my emergency medicine education and had a special cup of unique, high-quality espresso. This led me down the journey of passion and obsession to find the best cup.
I worked 27 years in emergency services, including 13 years as a critical-care flight paramedic.
I started Bridge Coffee Co 9 years ago on August 15th.
I have been working with and employed by the chemical engineering department of UC Davis for the last 2 years providing industry expertise in science and research into coffee.
I am also a licensed Q-Grader. Similar to a sommelier, and one of less than 600 in the United States.
